Last updated: 21 August 2026. This notice covers the Signal Shift marketing website and enquiries sent through it. Any client project that involves processing personal data is covered separately in the relevant proposal, contract or data-processing terms.
Who is responsible for your information
Signal Shift, led by Sadiq Lawal, is responsible for the personal information described in this notice and acts as the data controller for website enquiries.
You can contact Signal Shift about privacy at [email protected].
Information collected
When you submit an enquiry or email Signal Shift, the information may include your name, work email address, company, the systems or business area involved, and anything you choose to include in your message.
The website host and supporting services may also process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser or device information, request time and basic server logs.
How and why the information is used
Information is used to:
- receive, review and respond to enquiries;
- understand whether Signal Shift may be a suitable provider;
- arrange discovery conversations and prepare requested proposals;
- maintain the security, reliability and performance of the website; and
- keep appropriate records of business communications and any resulting engagement.
The main lawful bases are taking steps at your request before entering a contract and legitimate interests. Those legitimate interests are communicating with prospective clients, operating and improving the business, maintaining appropriate records, and protecting the website and communications from misuse. Where a legal obligation applies, information may also be used to meet that obligation.
Signal Shift does not use website enquiry information for solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Who processes or receives the information
Information may be processed by suppliers that support this website and business communications, including:
- FormSubmit, which delivers website form submissions;
- Google Workspace, which provides business email;
- Cloudflare, which hosts and delivers the Signal Shift website; and
- professional advisers, service providers or authorities where reasonably necessary to operate the business, protect legal rights or meet a legal obligation.
Signal Shift does not sell personal information.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, Signal Shift relies on the provider’s applicable safeguards and lawful transfer arrangements, or another valid basis available under UK data-protection law.
How long information is kept
Enquiry information is kept only while it is reasonably needed to respond, manage the prospective relationship, maintain appropriate business records or deal with a dispute. Records are reviewed and deleted or anonymised when those purposes no longer apply. If an enquiry becomes a client engagement, relevant records may be retained for the relationship and afterwards where required for contractual, accounting, tax or legal purposes.
Cookies and website tracking
At the date of this notice, the Signal Shift website does not use advertising cookies, behavioural profiling or visitor analytics. It loads the Plus Jakarta Sans font from Google Fonts, which means the visitor’s browser makes a request to Google when loading the typeface. Cloudflare may use essential technical measures needed to deliver and protect the site.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and the lawful basis being used, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion or restriction, object to processing, or receive certain information in a portable form.
You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Signal Shift will consider the objection and stop the processing unless there is a compelling lawful reason to continue or the information is needed for legal claims.
To exercise a right, email [email protected]. Signal Shift may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact Signal Shift first so it can be reviewed. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. Current contact and complaint information is available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Providing information
You are not legally required to submit the website form. However, Signal Shift needs enough contact and business-context information to review and respond to an enquiry.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated when the website, service providers or data practices change. The latest version and update date will remain on this page.
